GM plans to further boost non-auto revenue by rolling out dozens of toll-digital features by 2026, a GM executive said on Tuesday, including one that helps cars predict when maintenance is needed. GM North America's president, Steve Carlisle, said GM OnStar, which now offers insurance to customers in addition to concierge services, earns about 32 a month through each customer, and its Super Cruise The assisted driving function will further improve this data. New digital offerings, including in-vehicle subscriptions, will be powered by GM's Ultifi software and connectivity platform. Ultifi will also offer over-the-air software updates and features such as online shopping for drivers and passengers. Carlisle said some of the digital capabilities are designed to take advantage of the large screens GM has installed on the GMC Hummer EV, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Cadillac Lyriq and future electric vehicle models. "With the big screens in electric vehicles, we can offer customers more data-driven software products." That would double GM's annual revenue to about 280 billion by 2030, he said.
