Car sales in January: Sylphy wins the championship, BYD Qin performs well, BMW 5-series and 3-series firepower

On February 15, the China Passenger Transport Association released the list of car sales data for January this year. The data shows that in January, Nissan Sylphy (parameter | inquiry) I won the car sales championship with 49,982 units, but it fell by 5.3 percent year-on-year; Volkswagen Lavida ranked second with 45,288 units, down 18.7 percent year-on-year. It ranked third with more than 27,000 vehicles. In addition, Hongguang MINIEV and BYD Qin family followed closely. In particular, BYD Qin performed very well. The sales volume of BYD Qin family increased by 962.1 percent year-on-year, which is the model with the largest increase in the car sales list. In terms of mid-to-high-end sedans, the Camry beat its old rival, the Accord, with 24,950 units, securing the B-segment car seat, and the new Teana also ranked 15th on the list. In terms of luxury sedans, the BMW 5 Series and 3 Series can be said to be selling like crazy. Both models entered the top ten of the sedan sales list in January, and both exceeded double-digit growth. The monthly sales of the BMW 5 Series were 26,092 units, a year-on-year increase of 33.6 percent , while sales of the BMW 3 Series were 24,396 units, a year-on-year increase of 22.1 percent . In addition, Mercedes-Benz E-Class sales in January also exceeded the 20,000 mark. On the whole, the car sales rankings in January are basically the world of joint venture car companies. Only Hongguang MINI, BYD Qin, Yidong, Geely Emgrand and 4 models are shortlisted in the list. Self-owned brands still need to make more efforts to catch up.
